Visualizing Arpeggios and Pentatonic Scales

February 9, 2008 – 10:42 pm

To help me know my way around the bass, I visually map out the bass neck using arpeggios and pentatonic scales. This really helps me find the right sounding notes, and gives me confidence that I’m not going to hit a clunker.

  2. This is GREAT, Patrick! I think I’ll start doing these. A donation is forthcoming.

  3. Hey Patrick,
I love the website for the bass lessons!

Just a note on viewing it from a Mac computer. When you click to watch the videos it comes up with an error that it can’t find the file. It then opens a second video player in the upper left corner of the web page which remains blank, and then the original video player works.

Hopefully I can learn something here and improve my improvisational and soloing skills, God knows I need the help! :)
